A scathing review of Qumana
June 20th, 2005
Weblog Tools Collection has a scathing mini-review of Qumana .
Produces tag soup. Also, the client does not have access to previous posts and the category functionality is completely broken in Wordpress. Next.
I think I will stick with w.Bloggar .

I wouldn’t call it scathing, but it is true. We are working on improving how QLE works with WordPress, allow editing of old posts, and improving/cleaning up the HTML output.
If there are other things you’d like to see in the product, feel free to e-mail me.

Tris
I haven’t tried it, I was simply linking to the review.
No doubt, you will sort out the WordPress integration, but I have an inbuilt bias against WYSIWIG, because the code they produce is not usually very clean. If you can set up Qumana to produce code as clean as a text editor used with Markup, then I would be very interested in it, but the review suggests otherwise.
It’s horses for courses. I don’t use WYSIWIG, because I value clean code, but others do because they value ease of use.
I know James Governor at Monkchips wrote about Qumana a while ago - he might be worth contacting for feedback.

Thanks for the tip, e-mail, and comments. In the future we hope to be able to satisfy the general blogger and the hard-core coders too!

Tris tells us that Qumana now supports WordPress categories. Hurray!
